The story

The Great Hearth went out

A hundred years ago the kingdom’s Great Hearth went cold, and with it went the Knack: people forgot how to make things. You are one of the Kindled, the few who still can. The Knack comes back only by doing, so every log you cut is a skill remembered, and every fire you light brings a little of the kingdom back.

Remember the Knack

Chop, mine, fish, forage, smith, cook, saw and fletch. Eleven skills climb slowly and surely, the old-school way, and everything you gather or make gets quicker the more you do it.

Chopping a birch in the autumn grove: +1 Birch Log, +54 XP

Your world, three friends

Each world is small and yours, and up to four friends share it. Light the fire pits, clear the camps back to back, and drop by each other’s cottages on Lantern Row.

Three friends meet by the hearth in Kindlemere, the town where every story starts

One market for the whole kingdom

The best things are made by players, not dropped by monsters. Sell what you make to everyone, in every world, through one market, and collect your Crowns when it sells.

The Market Hall: logs, ore and fish for sale, with prices from players and the General Store

Played with one thumb

Everything works one-handed, in portrait, on the bus. Left-handed? The whole screen mirrors, and the fight buttons come in four sizes.

A fight at the goblin camp, with the fight buttons under your right thumb

Fair forever

No premium currency, no loot boxes, no paying to win. The server decides every item and coin, so the market can’t be duped or bought. The only things ever for sale are looks: pets, home decorations and the like.

The beta is open

Hearthcrown is early and growing every day. Play the beta, tell us what you find, and help shape the kingdom.
